Pediatric dentistry🥹

Hello! This is Bororu, a dental assistant😊

Now, this time I would like to make a post about pediatric dentistry.

For children at risk of cavities:

Regular check-ups by your doctor are necessary to prevent tooth decay from progressing.

1. Acute caries: The grooves in baby teeth are often complex, and cavities can rapidly spread on the inside, and one day a hole suddenly appears like a falling ceiling, which can lead to what is called acute caries, and the risk of tooth decay is higher than in adults. It is characterized by.

2. What is CO?

Refers to teeth where cavities have begun to progress, or teeth that are about to start progressing. There is no need for immediate treatment, and in many cases, the condition can be improved by changing the way you brush your teeth or by using fluoride.

3. Secondary caries

This is when bacteria invades a previously treated tooth through the small gap between the filling or crown and the tooth becomes cavities again. Teeth that have been treated once have. a higher risk of cavities, so care must be taken.

If cavities in baby teeth are left untreated for too long, it can have a negative impact on permanent teeth (adult teeth).

To the what?

Acute cavities require early detection and early treatment, and for children who are at high risk of developing cavities, regular check-ups once every three months may not detect the problem too late and the problem may become more serious. To prevent the disease from worsening, the progress of cavities is checked by the same doctor every month in addition to regular check-ups once every three months. (Depending on the degree of tooth decay risk, there may be cases where it is not every month.)

It takes about 10 minutes once.

We will guide you to a fixed number of people to arrive within a 30-minute window starting at 00:00 or 30:00, so based on our clinic system.

Doctor checks are for children under 15 years old with cavities called CO, and C1, targeted at high-risk children. The doctor`s check may include fluoride application, sealant (prophylactic treatment to fill in the grooves on the chewing surface), visual inspection for eruption disorders, risk assessment, etc. as necessary.

It is not possible to completely prevent tooth decay with just regular check-ups at the dental clinic and fluoride treatments. You will definitely need to improve your eating habits at home and brush your teeth.

Cavities are caused by various factors, so let`s work together to protect your child`s teeth by balancing self-care (at home) and professional care (at the dental clinic).

Thank you all.
